I am moving on Wed to Ca and want to stay in the Ventura area. I am looking for a studio or 1 bedroom that is affordable which I know is hard in Ca. I was wondering if anyone has lived in an apt complex that they liked and found affordable and safe. If you could share the place and the amount you pay I woul appreciate it. I have found a few things on craigslist but thought I would post here as well. Thank you

Plan on paying anywhere from $600 for a room to $2,200 for a one bedroom in Ventura. On the average you will probably pay about $1,100 for a one bedroom place. Hard to pin point one complex over another because of the diversity of the Ventura area in land types. You could live at the beach but chances are that will be in a condo or home. Prices are a lot more on the beach. You could choose to live off the avenue along with people who chances are will never afford to live at the beach. You could live in midtown in a 4 to 8 unit building. Most appartment complexes are inland far from the beach. For appartment complex areas try just east of the Government Center. A 2 bedroom will set you back about $1,500. Not sure on the 1 bedrooms. You can also try the Scandia area near Telephone road about 3 miles east of the Government Center. Prices will be similar.
