I considering taking a job in woodstock vt. I was wondering how the schools were in woodstock, and how the people are to newcomers in town. I was also considering taking a job in burlington vt but took the job in woodstock. I hope i made the right choice. thank you

Woodstock is a very touristy town full of people from away and second homeowners. I don't think you'll have a problem. It's also MUCH smaller than Burlington.
During busy tourist times (fall and weekends) you'll have quite a bit of traffic to deal with (Vermont style) but you'll quickly figure out ways around it.
Don't know about the quality of the schools. The Middle/High school is a regional school with surrounding towns and is located just west of Woodstock on Route 4.
You won't be too far from West Lebanon NH for movies & shopping.
Good luck with your move!

Woodstock is a wonderful town - although it is smaller than Burlington, I concur with the last posting, you can always scoot over the NH line to W Lebanon...welcome!

If they haven't improved from about 5 years ago when a friend at college who had just started college and had gone to Woodstock schools told me about them, I'd stay away from the schools. What I remember being told was some bomb threats (fakes but taken seriously anyways), drugs, bad teachers, etc. Now this is 5 year old info. and not first hand so take it for what it's worth and do more investigating...

My understanding is that Woodstock is a good school, certainly the high school - although too often it may be a more subjective answer/determination, that is one constant question customers/clients ask when looking at areas for properties --school systems, my response is generally, it is my understanding that Woodstock is considered a very good school system; however, it may be worth taking time to meet w/teachers, attend a class or two, etc.....
