they must have a pretty decent capacity.. each one of those must be at least 3 bbl ???

I also missed this article back in August about Square Nail Hops - one of the few (I think) newer hop producers in VT.

Resurrecting Hops | Seven Days

Have been reading up a bit myself about what you can do for growing hops in VT.

This is pretty awesome, Stone (California) and Ninkasi (Oregon) do a benefit beer for Waterbury. That is some dedication from 3000 miles away!

That's great news.

Saw the Alchemist in person for the first time this week since Irene...so depressing. But also went to the Black Back Pub a couple of nights - got to try Lawson's Maple Stout and Hill Farmstead's Twilight of the Idols, which is an amazing beer. Drove up to HF on Wednesday and bought some growlers.

I think I passed this the other day. Possibly across the street from Shelburne winery. Sounds good, although I've always thought Magic Hat's beers were lacking.

Don't blame the brewer on Magic Hat's beers. Blame the owner. Magic Hat has put out some incredible beers, but always cut them in favor of more "approachable" beers. They're a great "intro" brewery for people just getting into craft beer.

Something also of interest is that the founder of Magic Hat has been hired by Sam Adams to run a more experimental side of their brewing operations.
