Stood in line outside for 90mins with the other fanatics at HFS on Saturday for the release of Damon & Mimosa along with Flora.....stocked up for a couple weeks....nice.

Foster was a quality HFS offering, part way through a growler of that at this point; Everett in the other growler, plus a 750 of Society.......

We're planning a pilgramage to HFS in the spring. It will be our first trip there. With all the postings about lines and waiting, can you give me the lowdown? Like best time to go, any tips, etc....
thanks!

Go during the week. Less likelihood of lines. Also, don't follow your GPS if it takes you down Highlander. That road is not really meant for cars. Oh, and bring lots of cash. I'm pretty sure he still does not take credit cards and his stuff is pretty pricey. Heck, just the empty growler costs $10, though he does sell smaller refillable flip-top bottles, which cost less (might be $5). And when you're there, make sure you try everything he has on tap.

Yeah, we went in mid-December on a Wednesday and there was no one there...and it was all cash. I don't remember which road we ended up on - I used Google Maps, not an actual GPS and we had no issues. Of course, there was no snow or mud at the time...not sure what it would be like in mud season!

Look at a map and look at Highlander. It's crazy! I followed my GPS there and it got me there just fine. It took me a different way out, though. I started down the road and it got narrower and narrower until we ended up at the bottom of a hill where there was a good size puddle (it was raining) and I decided to turn around. The road was barely as wide as my car (I drive an Outback). Had I not been driving the Outback, I would have turned around much sooner. I actually drove over a fallen birch tree at one point on this road.

Okay, we definitely did NOT end up on Highlander, lol...I think we took 16 up from Hardwick and then hit a left somewhere...I gotta check out the map and see for sure!

I attempted a visit last year during mud season and didn't make it. Got within a few miles, but if I went any further I would have needed a tow out of the mud.

On a positive note, with this winter the way it's been, you might not have any issues at all.
