that snow is insanely heavy. I could barely lift the rake when the snow stuck to it. I really should have done this a couple of days ago.

we'll be hearing about more barn roofs caving in tonight I'm sure.

Well, at least you got a good workout! I hope we've heard the last of barns collapsing around here for a while, but you may just be right. The NEK barns that came down this week were of the newer variety - quite expansive low slung, wood framed buildings with only a gradual roof pitch. The old 45 degree barn roofs seem to hold up better. Not infallible, but I like their odds better. If I was building one today, I consider a Quonset style.

gradual roof pitch = bad idea

we need more of a driving rain tomorrow. this isn't washing anything away, it's just making the snow heavier.
