I'm moving to Lake Elmore in May will be working in Stowe.

I was wondering if There was a dependable transit system in that part of Vermont.

How well would you say that the transit systems were in Vermont in comparison to other states.

Thanks

Ditto. You will need your own vehicle in that area!

Very true. Though we finally have pretty decent bus service in and around the Upper Valley. My wife can now take the bus from Windsor VT to Hanover NH and back at reasonable intervals every day. Just a few years ago that wouldn't have been possible.

Cool.

Thanks folks

I actually do own a vehicle. But it needs some slight repairs to make the trip. I will be traveling from Georgia to Vermont. I just questioned if I even needed it. Because I'm the kind of guy, if I can live without a car I might just do without one. But I think i'll just get the repairs and make the drive up.

lets keep the discussion going.

Lake Elmore is a really scenic little town with a great state park. Unfortunately, you'll be driving on a long forgotten stretch of road known as VT Rte. 12 up to Morrisville. It's mainly a 50 MPH road, but the pavement is so bad that 35 is about the max any vehicle can withstand. Allow an extra 10-15 minutes for that commute.

This reminds me of a scene in the movie "Euro Trip".......they are in some former Soviet repubublic and they ask if the train to Berlin is coming soon and the guy answers......."Oh, yes....very soon, they are building it now"......

VT Transit? Oh, yes, very soon, they are planning it now.......

Then there are the 9,000 commuters who are at the mercy of the CCTA transit strike come Monday.
