Yeah, sorry for the absence. I actually posted something the other day for you guys but it was in the wrong thread. When asked to move it never did. Sorry. LOL

I tend to either rant or hide in the summer.

So to get somewhat technical, whats happening is an amplified pattern is coming back as we've seen all Spring as well. A trough digging down from Canada will bring cool temps but in the Ohio valley.

This puts us on the outter right edge. Which means 2 things... Fronts will slow down along it, moisture will ride up it and southerly flow will keep us warm and muggy. Always a tough cal for VT, not sure where it will setup.

This accu graphic best shows whats going to happen.

If you want more technical terms check out what NWS Cleveland said yesterday. It's a "winter type" pattern.

We dont usually see troughs digging like that in the summer! Usually the Jet Stream is flat and in Canada. Pretty interesting! Doesnt mean snow or cold but does mean below normal for those inside the trough

What happened in Jericho again????? Whats with all the flooding lately there. Gees.

I Got soaked this morning after nothing was on radar. Within 7 minutes the sky opened up and started pouring.
Heads up today and next 10 days. Flood warning out and the downpours can be VERY heavy! Atmosphere is loaded with moisture.

Use this map to see the PWAT values which measure all the water in the air.

I know there was considerable flooding in the Underhill area, I read about one house in particular that just washed away.

It's just so saturated, this is my first full spring here but after starting out very dry, now it's swung the opposite direction and everything is just soaked.

The west of the country is on fire, send some of this moisture to them! They need it!

In the Burlington area, there has been considerable rain for the past week. This section of the state has taken a huge financial hit. The weather has not only hurt the tourism economy, but the damage to roads washing out or away and sink holes opening up and damaging property has been significant. There are roads in Burlington that are still damaged from earlier flooding that are not repaired yet, and some of the repaired roads were washed out again with the new flooding. The news ran a story on how the restaurants who rely primarily on outdoor dining (particularly Church Street) have been crippled by the wet weather. The other problem is the mosquito's. They are now out of control. They don't just come around in the evening, it's all day.

Does anyone have stats for anwhere in Vermont regarding ranking on wettest June on record?

BDR here needs 2.66" to get to 2nd wettest June on record (over 11 inches).

I'm not sure what the record is. We are in the top 10 according to the weather report. We are 4 inches above normal and we are supposed to get another 2-3 inches in the next 24 hours. I'm guessing this will be another record breaker.

Have no stats, but it just poured overnight-
the rain was so loud that I couldn't even hear my tv show
(despite having windows shut)-that's how noisy the heavy rains were.
Seems to have stopped for now, but some further rain remains in forecast for afternoon.
