Scroll down with link on left hand side, there's 5 other stations in VT to choose from.

GFS shows less then NAM at 1.17". But still, both showing over an inch? Damn.

Updates from VEC
Outage Center Announcements

Saturday, 12/21 @ 6:45 P.M.
A hazardous ice storm is moving through the VEC service territory. Significant icing conditions are expected to develop Saturday evening and continue into Sunday. Icy road conditions will make travel difficult and ice on trees and power lines will cause power outages.

We urge all VEC members to use caution. The areas that we expect to be hardest hit include: Chittenden County, Franklin County, Grand Isle County, and Newport, but other areas may see icing conditions as well.

VEC has been preparing for this weather event for several days. Due to the nature of this type of ice storm, full restoration efforts will not begin until Sunday morning when conditions are considered safe. Unless otherwise specified in the outage table on the left, VEC members losing power this evening should plan to be without power throughout the night.

We have a gas grill and gas stove so we'll be able to cook and a wood stove for heat should we lose power. No worries here!

Looking over the timing it looks like everyone is in the clear after lunchtime tomorrow.

Here's what the Hi-Res NAM says for 7am. Mess still around in the morning.

Southern VT in the clear the whole time hence why no alerts.

Also, if that much ice falls give the power companies time to fix, its hard to get out there with a sheet of ice on the roads. And melting will be slow. Temps in the 20s/30s and warming to 40s in some spots in the afternoon

I used 1.5 cords of wood already this year, can't live without the stove. I almost want a power outage. LOL. Sucks when you lose all the food in the fridge though. I'd rather be without power in winter than summer. I need my A/C.

Last one guys, sorry for all the posts. Try to report your ice accumulations to NWS. It helps neighboring towns & states what to expect and helps with the research of storms.

Either via Facebook, Twitter, or online form. Let me know if you need the links.

Here's how to measure.

Another one with fractions.

Use this to convert fraction to decimal.

Truly appreciate the work you do Cambium. Mid 20s here at the Canadian border with light rain falling. The trees and utility lines in our neighborhood are starting to get weighed down. The only tree in my yard that I could really do anything for is a 15' balsam. I shook all the snow off of it earlier today to give it a fighting chance.
