Thanks. I got into my usual storm posting mode. I heard Burlington airport lost power yesterday evening but NWS said it was still fully functional.

Update from VEC: They will only go out there when its safe and it will only be for emergency situation only. Like hospitals, doctors, wires down on roads, ect.

At the time of this update, VEC is experiencing 26 separate outages affecting 2,400 members in the following towns: Albany, Belvidere, Berkshire, Cambridge,Craftsbury, Derby, Enosburg, Fairfield, Fletcher, Franklin, Glover, Hinesburg, Huntington, Jay, Montgomery, Morristown, Norton, Richford, Waterville and Westfield.

Full restoration efforts will begin this morning when day breaks AND conditions are considered safe enough. Due to the dangerous nature of this type of storm, we limited overnight restoration efforts to emergency situations only. Power was restored to approximately 500 members during the overnight hours.

As reports come in from the field, we will update the outage table to the left with estimated restoration times.
We urge all VEC members to use caution. The areas that we expect to be hardest hit include: Chittenden County, Franklin County, Grand Isle County, and Newport, but we are seeing that other areas are experiencing icing conditions as well

In the upper 20's in Rutland, I can't even walk across my driveway to my jeep so I'm stuck till it warms up, I'm guessing there's icy roads too. It rained heavy yesterday.

I'm about 8 miles from Westfield. We have birch trees bent over like croquet wickets and a few medium-sized branches down. We have power, but lost it for about 10 minutes around 9:30 a.m.

Any insider updates on what's going on at BTV airport? Lots of cancellations this morning but my flight isn't til 5 and showing on time right now...not sure if anything has come through the airport at this point and other travel options seem limited at best considering the holidays...
