Those of you who don't like chilly temps enjoy this week!

I keep seeing on a continuous basis that after Thursday we go below normal and very fall like. Anything past 10 days is sketchy but with the type of airmass dropping in bringing November like temps to the plains that means its strong enough to get to the northeast as October like at least. Unsuaul snowstorm in Alberta happening and then maybe some U.S states as well next few days.

Very comfortable today almost feels like the atmosphere is changing. Windy too.

Do you guys feel it? Many New Englanders wont see 70s for another week.

From NWS Burlington.

"As of shortly before 2pm, the temperature in Burlington is just 53 degrees. Doesn't look like we'll make it to 60 degrees. Last time we failed to reach 60 was back on May 6th (hit 59F that day).

It's even chillier over in Saranac Lake NY -- still in the 40s there. Last time they failed to reach 50 degrees was back on May 5th (they only reached 43F that day).

Oh, and it's just 36 degrees atop Mt Mansfield.

Guess this means fall has arrived...."

Yeah, pretty nuts what the GFS is showing (haven't checked the Euro) I noticed its not so much minimum temps that makes us turn on the heat but the max temps contribute. For instance if it stays in the 50s during the day its hard for inside the home to warm up so you end up needing the heat if it drops to 40s at night.

You can use this link to see the latest GFS data (not a forecast but a possibility). Notice max struggles past 50s then look towards the end of the week. 20s and 30s for lows. Hard to believe until I see more updates like that. You can change the 3 letter code in the link for other stations (RUT=Rutland, ect)

I am not ready for this yet!! I cut a lot of my basil for freezing today, not sure how much longer it will last in these temps. So many tomatoes/zucchini/eggplant out there!

Last year I think I put the heat on October 1...this year might be this weekend lol. Really felt the lack of sun and 50 degrees today.

Head outside and check. Dress warm.
