Beautiful winter wonderland out there right now...gonna enjoy it before the rain washes it all away. I'm wondering if we'll even have anything left on the ground after this rain storm.

Sorry for lack of posts, I've been depressed and bummed about this winter so far. Horrible even for here.

Anyway.. more snow on the way for you guys.

Don't forget you can use this link to see when and what precip is coming.

On the left. Choose the State you want.
Scroll down a little choose the station available.
Then choose GFS or NAM and see the differences. Remember they update every 6hrs.

NCEP Model Time-Series (BUFR) Forecast Hourly Weather Data

Here's what latest NAM shows for Burlington. Starts as snow (few hours worth) changes to sleet for couple hours. Then changes to rain Sunday morning.

00z Jan 4 = 7pm Jan 3rd (Saturday).

NAM says 1/4" of snow liquid (2-4"). Maybe an inch of sleet? 1/4" of rain accumulation.

Ugh, more of a mess...I was hoping it would stay cool enough for it all to be snow. It's gonna come down and then melt and then freeze over again. Yay!

You'll like whats coming. We'll see if it stays as impressive as it's showing. First below zero readings of the season next week.

A reminder models aren't forecasts, just possibilities but looks like cold is coming.

GFS12z low temps for next Thursday morning.

Maybe only 1 days worth but Thursday looks like the intense
