Storm center is perfect for you guys, not for us.
Hope everyone is making out ok. Mountains must have some nice deep snowpack now.

From the news this morning, the Champlain Valley has the most accumulation at this point with about 6-8". It looks like the eastern part of the state is getting the shadow effect from the white mountains as they predicted. Also just heard on the news on the drive to work, the Department of Trans. is reporting rain in Southern Vermont. Northern New York is going to get the brunt of the storm. They are estimating around 2 feet will fall.

I'm in Southern Vermont. I think I am. Maybe it's the very northern part of Southern Vermont. We have 6" here. I'm staying about halfway up a mountain. I heard the resort base lodges had well over a foot when the early morning workers arrived this morning. The peaks probably have more. It's still snowing strong here at 9am.

I hope that rain isn't heading this way! If it does, it won't rain at the highest elevations, right?

I don't think any reasonably tall mountains will get rain without a serious warm up.

Probably just under 3 inches around me so far. The roads are downright nasty. I'm happy to be done driving for the day.

Its hard to tell how much we have 'cause of the wind blowing it around but I guesstimated 6" around 9am.

From the report it was around Bennington and heading towards Brattleboro. They didn't say how far north the rain will head. The worry was ice. They are spreading brine to hopefully reduce any ice.

Rain should not get into VT, colder air now filtering back into the region. Storm moving farther away.

Always a tough thing to do in wind. Try to find a spot where the wind was blocked and take a few measurements around the area and get an average.

This is a photo from Guilford in southern Vermont. They are getting snow, but you can see the raindrops on the lens. The news was showing doppler images of just snow, but they are saying it is turning to rain as it reaches the surface. The listed temps as of right now in many areas are at or above freezing. White River is at 34 degrees and Springfield is 32. I think the eastern half of the state is looking warmer. We (Burlington/Champlain Valley) are supposed to go up to 32 degrees. We are up 2 degrees in the last hour (weather station in Colchester).

From BTV: Acknowleding some mixing occuring but will be short lasting. Albany hasnt updated their discussion yet.

A POTENT WINTER STORM WILL IMPACT THE ENTIRE REGION THROUGH TONIGHT
PRODUCING WIDESPREAD HEAVY SNOWS WITH AMOUNTS OVER A FOOT. GUSTY
WINDS WILL ALSO OCCUR ALONG THE WESTERN SLOPES OF THE GREEN
MOUNTAINS AND IN THE SAINT LAWRENCE VALLEY...AND THIS MAY CAUSE
AREAS OF BLOWING SNOW. SNOW SHOWERS WILL CONTINUE ACROSS THE
NORTHERN MOUNTAINS ON FRIDAY AS THE STORM MOVES AWAY FROM THE
REGION. THE WEEKEND WILL BE SEASONABLY COLD...WITH A CONTINUED
CHANCE OF LIGHT SNOW IN THE MOUNTAINS.

.NEAR TERM /UNTIL 7 PM THIS EVENING/...
AS OF 1215 PM EST THURSDAY...HAVE UPDATED ZONES TO ADJUST SOME
TEMPS FROM LATEST OBS. FORECAST STILL ON TRACK FOR THE CWA THIS
AFTNOON AS SFC LOW BRINGING THE AREA WINTRY WX CONTINUES TO MAKE
ITS WAY ACROSS SE NEW ENGLAND. MANY AREAS RECEIVING LGT/MOD SNOW
ATTM W/ SOME SPOTS GETTING S+...LIKE BTV ATTM. AS SFC LOW BEGINS
TO ROUND THE CORNER NEAR CAPE COD...IT IS EXPECTED TO TREK TOWARDS
THE GULF OF MAINE THIS AFTNOON/TNGT. AS A RESULT...SOME SOUTHERN
ZONES WILL SEE PRECIP TAPER OFF WHICH MAY WARRANT THEM BEING
REMOVED FROM WARNING. WILL WAIT AND SEE THIS AFTNOON FOR NEXT
UPDATE.

HEAVIER SNOW BANDS WILL CONTINUE TO MOVE THROUGH
FORECAST AREA WITH PERIODIC INCREASES IN SNOWFALL RATES FROM
AROUND AN INCH AN HOUR TO 2-3 INCHES PER HOUR. HAD A REPORT OF A
LITTLE SLEET MIXED IN AT MARSHFIELD VT...BUT CONTRIBUTIONS FROM
SLEET WILL BE MINIMAL AND NOT INCLUDED IN PRESENT FORECAST. WITH
TRACK OF LOW AS FAR SOUTH AS IT IS...EXPECT COLD AIR TO REMAIN IN
REGION AND LITTLE IF ANY ADDITIONAL SLEET REPORTS. OTHERWISE ONLY
MINOR CHANGES TO FORECAST...FRESHENING UP WITH OBSERVED TEMP/WIND
