Hi,
My 8th grader needs assistance from a Vermont resident. He is working on a project to collect soil samples. He needs about 6 cups of soil. Is there anyone willing to send Vermont soil? We can send a postage paid box so you will not have to pay for shipping.

Many thanks,
Nick

You may have thought of this. You should try to collect samples from different areas of the state. some areas have heavy clay soils while other areas have sand for soil. Depending on where in the state the whole spectrum is covered.I would be willing to send a sample, but we have a sand based soil which is not typical for over 3/4 of the state.

nijalumik - Yeah, I'll help out. Message me and I'll send you a sample of our soil which is primarily clay.

I can send a sample from northern Vermont (Lamoille County). We live on what used to be a potato farm and the soil is rich and sandy though most of the land around us is clay-based. Just send me a PM if your son still needs it.
