The Charlotte/Essex ferry connects Charlotte VT & Essex NY. It is one of 4 Lake Champlain Ferry Crossings (Shoreham/Ticonderoga, Burlington/Port Kent, Grand Isle/Plattsburg are the other 3) The ferry runs year round. Crossing time is 20 min to 1/2 hour. The dock on the NY side is right in Essex village. Park your car in Charlotte, walk on the ferry, and hop to the other side of the pond for dinner and/or ice cream.
