Just as a sense of peace i ALWAYS get studded tires for myself and kiddo. I kind of look at it as getting twice the life out of each set since they don't work for 1/2 the year. It's all relative but if it gives ALL peqae of mind? Why not. (besides I have a little car and since I moved here I go places 4 wheel drive trucks DO NOT) NOTHING stops me and my studded tires....coming from a Texan that never even saw snow prior!
Glad to hear you're getting around all right, swanstone!
And, er, ya got me with that one, quickdraw. If your tires came equipped with holes that will accept studs, then yes, a tire shop would be able to do the job for you in under an hour. Have a look at your tires. Maybe they have the pre-fab holes. If not, then I guess you'd need a new set. In fact, I'm going to take a minute and see if mine have em. Gotta move the wife's car so she can go to work in a little while anyway...
OK - What feature is standard on Cooper Weathermaster and Hankook snow treads? And the correct answer is "holes that will accept studs" Let's see how many of today's contestants came up with the correct answer...

LOL at music
maybe i should get unstudded with the option of studs. then, the first moment I have a problem, stud them.
I'm not sure you can stud tires later. I admit its a mystery to me but I got the impression you do it when you get the tires or not at all?
Anyway, I guess I'm not seeing the hill on your driveway...does it fall drop off steeply where it appears to end? I don't see anything I would call steep myself. :P

I think you should just buy a plow!
My tire guys have told me that you can't put studs on used tires. I think it's because they get sand and stuff in the holes.
