Default weekend in Rutland

For the 7th straight year the wife and I fed the locals and visitors at the Arts in the Park crafts fair near the intersection of Rt 4/Rt 7.

We always stay at the Happy Bear on the Killington Access Rd, great place, not fancy, lots of history, low price, nice people.

Sitting below Vermont's second highest peak, the early mornings were really pretty, the color in places was nice, especially between Rutland and Killington.. The Midway Diner is great, the BBQ at the Backroads Tavern and Restaurant in Brigewater(about 15 min away) is unreal. The Vermont Bagel Bakery is the best. It's not a chain...yet.

They are renovating the huge and beautiful Strand Theater downtown to be used for yearround use by the Rutland Farmer's Market. I was told there is now 62 weekly farmers market's in Vermont and Rutland is the 3rd to go yearround. I think they mentioned that Bratt was the other. Not sure tho.

Had a great weekend, my wife who was born and raised there got to catch up with former classmates(class of 73) plus we made a few bucks.

With all the neg posts about Rutland I couldn't disagree more. Here is some more info for those who have asked about Rutland lately.
