Everything was rattling some just a few minutes ago (Rutland area). Scary seeing my Sandwich glass whale oil lamps shaking and rattling against each other...

When I noticed things shaking everywhere in the house not just one area I figured it was a small quake. I'm just glad it was a small quake...

Felt it, heard it (roar like a passing truck/heavy equipment) & saw it (computer monitor wobbling from side to side), around 7:15 p.m. in Brattleboro. Didn't realize it wasn't just me until later when I clicked around to a local site & saw mention of earthquake in Maine (near NH border).

I was in Brattleboro, at a meeting on the third floor of the Municipal Building. All of a sudden it sounded like a heavy rain on the roof and I saw a floor lamp shaking. I blurted out "What is that?". Someone said that it was an earthquake. I said, "Well, it's just a little one". Someone said something like they are all little here. I said, "For now". Then the meeting went on without a hitch. It felt a little surreal.

No one missed a beat, except for me.

There were some posts on iBrattleboro about the quake, but it seems that people just noticed it and moved on.

Default Shaking in North Springfield, VT

My house was shaking all night, Jan 27, 2016 and then it stopped. It rattled my nerves. This has happened before, all day sometimes. Then it stops and it is such a relief when it stops. Then I read that they are allowing fracking in Addison County. I read that this is exactly what they experience out west when they frack. Then the earthquakes start. Are we ready for earthquakes in Vermont? There was an earth fracture up on Lake Champlain. Is that related to fracking? Is this really happening to Vermont?
