mine retired and his replacement has been found wanting, shall we say.
is there anyone relatively affordable who can do crowns and implants etc.?
don't care where in vermont, heck with enough encouragement i'd even consider mexico or elsewhere if the care and the price is right.
a dental school would work too maybe.

I can't recommend a good one, but avoid Dr Lakatos in Rutland and Dr Fauver in Springfield.

Liscio Dental up in Colchester is the BEST dentist office I've ever been to. Excellent service and everyone is so nice there, plus I never feel like they are trying to sell me on something I don't need. Even if I lived hours away I would still drive up there to see them.

I'm looking for a new dentist, so I am interested in the answers to this thread. Of the two I mentioned, one went ahead with a $3500 root canal and crown without asking - and since when does it cost that much?? The other, could not get me fully numb and told me to "sit on your hands so you don't grab my arm. This might hurt." MIGHT?? UN believable.

Any dentist recommendations for Addison County? The only one I've heard of sounds terrible. In order to have a crown made he sent his customer to Burlington to get a color match. Then when the crown arrived it didn't fit, and she was sent to Burlington again to have it re-sized. That's 2 round trips to Burlington, or about 4 hours of driving time. In other states you never have to drive anywhere except your dentist's office. If something isn't right, the dentist takes care of it. I'm letting my teeth rot until I find a good dentist within 20 miles of Middlebury.

I dont wish to put too much in a public forum, but I have an absolute horror story about one of the one's you mentioned. You know they are banned from dentistry in Boston? I found out too late.
I should have 1-800 Lawyered-up in retrospect. *yIkEs*
I finally went back to my old dentist in the Philly area, and as I gave a summary of my "treatments"(?) I could see a look of disbelief coming over him.
Scary stuff

Yes they do tend to send you to Burlington for this and that ect., so much there are some things I have not had done, it is annoying to say the least, wish I had an answer for you.

(last year I needed cataract surgery, sure enough they were going to refer me to Burlington, well I checked around and YES it can be done in Middlebury, which is what I did)

After going through five dentists in Montpelier, I really like Luttrell in Randolph. He's a no nonsense, straight up decent bloke. Not sure of his prices compared to the rest of the state but they sure are cheaper than Montpelier. Despite moving north I still will drive an hour to see him rather than try and find one close by.

You might try Angie's List, which has some reviews. I'm going to try a dentist in Middlebury. There are a couple of problems though: 1) You have to pay to use it, and 2) There aren't currently many reviews. There was one dentist in Rutland who got an "F" though, so you do get some idea of whether a dentist is really terrible or not.
