The difference with the Valentine's Day Storm is that we got 3'....in ONE DAY! Thats what was unusual. It's not unusual to have that much snow on the ground....we usually get little storms (a few inches here and there) that add up over time.
We usually have snow on the ground through March, sometimes into early April. And then we have those April snowstorms sometimes....

3 feet in one day... I'm jealous! Did anyone see on the news last year the footage of kids sledding off their roofs in Colorado because the snow was at ROOF level? My kids saw that and their jaws dropped. Skiing off the roof would be pretty cool! Well, I guess it's like anything... fun to enjoy once in a while, but it's another thing to have to go to work in it! Thanks for the great pictures! I've never seen an ugly picture of Vermont.

In Vermont we like to ski off the roof after a big storm. It took only a six-pack to get my neighbor to jump off my roof after a huge storm in March of 2001.

That's a great picture! The things we all do after a six-pack....

Um... have I mentioned yet how JEALOUS I am of all of you VTers? Well, one day, you'll see. I'll be flying off someone's roof in Vermont, and someone else in Arizona will be pining away for the day that they get to live in a place where we can all jump off our neighbor's roof, in true neighborly fashion, and land in a soft, white fluff of snow. And have a six-pack to thank us for it.
