I've lived here for 40+ years and know how you feel, OP. I handle the entitled tourist-types like this: If their just being generally inconsiderate (as in your parking in the fire lane example), I don't waste an iota of energy on the matter. I'm not the manners police. If, however, an entitled tourist-type is directly rude to me (like the guy with the NJ plates on the big BMW who cut me off as I was walking in the crosswalk), I confront them, firmly but politely. We can't control what others do, though it may frustrate and insult us.

After working in a resort area you learn things.
I now know if i ever see a Illinois, Wisconsin, Manitoba, North Dakota plate leave alot of room or go around them quick because at any time they will randomly slam on the breaks, cut across three lanes of traffic without using a blinker.
Idk why its not hard to plan ahead, if you know your destination will be on the right don't drive in the far left lane.

I don't know what the op does for a living but the chances are pretty good that more than a few of the people she knows benefit from tourism. It constitutes about 10% of the state's GDP.

She should have minded her own business.

POT - KETTLE. So, please tell us where you are located so that a brothel can be set up next to you to improve the local economy.

I dont let others upset me especially others I dont know. In my estimation tourists are customers and should be patronized as such

People minding their own business is why the world is the way it is today.

So you wouldn't have moved and made people walk around you car?

Had another one today. I swear when some ppl go on vacation they leave their brain at home.

Family was crossing the road on Main Street. On the crosswalk, where there is this BIG sign that flashes for oncoming traffic when ppl are crossing. Guy from CT this time, could not be bothered to stop. He actually slowed down as they were crossing the other lane towards his, as if he were going to stop, then as they reach the yellow line, he goes around the back of them on the wrong side of the road towards oncoming traffic. Obviously he had somewhere very important to get to.

And Friday, were the fireworks. They block of about 1/4 mile of this road, and you can easily go around it taking 2 side streets. This guy who owns a very expensive condo (I know this bc he was SCREAMING it) was flipping out completely bc he pays taxes here GDmmit they can't make him go around, and OMG drive on a DIRT road - a DIRT road!! He's gonna call the governor and make a complaint. The poor guy posted there to redirect traffic was pretty good and kept his cool until the local popo got there. This guy was over the top hand waving hopping up and down, beet red face. Hubby and I pulled over in a driveway and watched in case he got violent before the cops got there.

For the guy who thinks I should mind-my-own-business-who-do-I-think-I-am-anyway. I'm a cop. Its my job to mind your business.

And for the guy who would not have moved - had one pull that when I was working in another town. A tow truck is very persuasive. So is a fire truck - some guy parked in that tempting fire lane... I laughed my butt off when the Dept pushed his jeep out of the way. With the truck. The guy was incensed. Cry me a river.

On another note, had a really nice old woman from NJ lock herself out of her car. Gave her a ride to her condo and back to get her spare set of keys. Very nice lady.

I'm sorry, I must have missed where I went on a rant about tourists in my city. Can you lead me to that post please?
