I saw this on the Long Trail, some years ago. It's an outhouse associated with one of the leantos, not far from Killington.
What did this guy do to get memorialized with an outhouse? Is it still there? This was 30 years ago. |

Perhaps I'll try the "Outdoors" board.

Shoot the Green Mountain Club an email - they are the caretakers of the Long Trail, so I'm sure someone there knows.

I just did - thanks for the tip. I'll report back with what they tell me. Incidentally, I love your state. Here's another question - what's a good cheap place for a visitor to stay in Rutland? The Amtrak train goes there, it's a nice vacation for a non driver like myself. ![]() |

Apparently, according to Dave Hardy of the Green Mountain Club, the outhouse got burned to the ground by vandals some years ago. And, Jarvis T. Snodgrass is a fictional invention, I gather invented to appeal to credulous flatlanders like myself.
