Default Oh, this weather makes me nuts...

Someone please explain why the weather changes here 100 times a day (yeah, I know an exaggeration). It was just horrible out...raining..this am, then sunny so I stuck out some laundry to dry (it was getting warm). Then it started raining, all of it got soaked. I pulled it in, it looked like the world was ending (overcast and raining). Within 10 minutes the sun is out again and it's nice..

Is this 'mountain' weather or something to do with being in eastern Vermont or what??

Get used to it! You know how the saying goes, "if you don't like the weather, just wait a minute". Seriously.

Oh, Vter, it's really driving me CRAZY today...!
I was at the Montshire Science Museum a few weeks ago and they had a bit about the changing weather here in New England...they explained why it changes so much but I didn't read it all.
I suppose it is good it stopped raining (for the moment). lol.

Gypsy - When we first moved to New Hampshire, the changeable weather drove me nuts too - don't worry, as vter said, you will get used to it, just takes awhile.

Lol, my friend and I have a similar saying: "If you don't like the weather in New England, just wait a half-hour".

The weather is just what it is here in Vermont and it always has been so don't be too hasty in breaking out the checkbook to buy carbon credits in hopes you can be part of a change. Back when I did my first thru hike of the Long Trail in 1981 I was amazed at how the weather could change multiple times in a day. Shortly after that trip I purchased a book by David Ludlum (I believe this is the correct name) which covered Vermont weather with interesting explanations and historical data. It just might still be in print.
