Where to find a Xmas tree?
I know we could buy a Christmas tree from City Market for $30, but where could we find cut-your-own trees (preferably cheaper than $30) within 2 hours of Burlington?
Thanks,
Cat

There's a tree farm on Rt. 100 north of Stowe on the left that I know some folks go to. 5 years ago I used to go to a family run place in Morrisville, but I believe they retired to the west coast. Isn't there also one on 15 in Essex? I think it's on the right heading west. Those places are both 20-45 min from Burlington. Cutting your own tree is definitely worth it- the experience is half of the fun- the tree the other half!

I think there is also a farm right past Ben and Jerry's in Waterbury...I think that's been there forever (I've heard you just make a right off Rte 100 when you past B&J).

There's one in Williston. I believe it's off of Old Stage Road, which is off of Mountain View Rd. There used to be signs for it right at the intersection of Route 2A and Industrial Ave/Mountain View Rd. I assume they're still selling trees this year. That's where I've gone the past couple years.

Thanks. My friend passed a farm that was selling them for $10 apiece, but it's 2 hours from Btown...

There are numerous cut your own tree lots in the Burlington area. The one I have used for the last two years is on Rte 15 between Essex and Jericho. They have hand saws there and once you cut the tree they wrap it for you with the mesh netting. I believe I paid $25 last year. The other tree place that comes to mind is Purintons in Huntington about fives miles south of Richmond. In any case you will have plenty of selection and fresh trees look great and last a long tiime.

I've been buying "fralsams" a hybrid tree with great shape, smell, and needle retention. Only problem is, I've heard they've become so popular that the supply is thinning out. My guy already told me he won't be selling any for the next few years.
