If you look at all of Father John's photos from different states he's visited, you'll see the raccoon travels with him and shows up in one of the pictures.
Nice pictures of several different states.

I live in California, I visited Vermont a few years ago. Just gorgeous. Wow!
Saw Ben and Jerrys, Burlington, then some of the little towns down by rutland.
It must have been the cleanest state I've ever been to. I think there's a law, banning billboards? Or large displays by the highways? It's all beautiful scenery everywhere. Thanks for the pics.

Correct! No billboards in Vermont. None. Nyet. Nix. Nada. Ahhhhhh. :-)
I'm glad to travel to other states because until my vision is assaulted with billboards, I sometimes forget how lovely it is to live in their absence.

I drove from New Hampshire (about the middle of the state) to the Ben and Jerrys factory, then to Burlington for a few nights. Is it the only state in the county that banned billboards?
The drive was gorgeous, nothing but greenery. It reminded me a little bit of virginia, but very pristine. A sparkly green. We dont have that in california.
I also don't remember many big chain stores, Best Buy, Walmart. Is there a law limiting big stores to preserve the scenery? Or preserve local businesses?

Yes, VT makes it very difficult for large stores to come in. They set sq. footage restrictions that are hard to meet, and attempt to preserve the ma and pa stores. Until recently, VT also wouldn't allow film crews- movies. Cell phones are also a relatively new concept, as towers have just begun to surface in the last few years. VT considers such things a blight on the landscape, but as a VTer who had a long, remote commute, I would have appreciated cell phone service when I was in a snowy ditch. I'll gladly give up a little for safety!

VErmont has always allowed movies to be filmed here. Recent movies filmed in VT include Me, Myself, & Irene and What Lies Beneath. Before that, Funny Farm, Baby Boom, Beetlejuice, etc.
