Never said it would be a burden for me. just because i can afford to pay does not mean i want my hard earned money paying more tax than I have to and solar panels save money immediately. However to answer your question. Solar panels are cost less than property taxes and will be paid off eventually. Property taxes will aways have to be paid even in retirement.

Perhaps I'm mistaken, but weren't you the poster who asked about income sensitivity and taxes? Are you aware that VT taxes retirement income?

Yes, you were the poster who inquired about income sensitivity and stated you would look into it. You didn't answer my question, so I scrolled back. If you're wondering whether you might benefit from income sensitivity, you might want to consider that what you might save through income sensitivity, you could lose to state income tax should you eventually retire here. Retirement might be looking too far ahead, but have you looked at income tax in any of the states you've considered in addition to property tax?

OP, another thing to consider when looking at properties for sale online: A lot of times the town property tax amount is listed but if there is a Village tax as well, that is not. In cases like mine, it totally doubles the amount.
