Anyone fly the new direct/nonstop route from Orlando to Burlington on Allegiant Air?

No...but note that Allegiant does not fly into Orlando International but instead to Sanford/Orlando airport. Also its not a daily flight so if there are weather or equipment issues it could mean long delays.
Really wish JetBlue would bring back their BTV-MCO non stop flights!

I haven't taken it yet but we will give it a try. Going to Sanford could be nice and quiet--not sure. Never had a problem with Orlando though.

Totally agree with you about JetBlue. I have no idea why they cancelled that flight. It was ALWAYS full both ways. It's not like they were losing money.

I enjoyed the convenience of the jet blue flight also. I dunno if jet blue would come in as long as allegiant is around. They said they were losing money on it I think.

Allegiant fly's twice a week. Looking at their prices I would rather fly JetBlue. Note, Allegiant is one of the lowest rated airlines around.

Friends of mine flew roundtrip BTV to MCO recently without a problem and cheap. Allegiant definitely has older planes. May try them this summer. Sure beats a layover in LGA or JFK.

Again, Allegiant does not fly to MCO (Orlando Int'l.) They fly to Orlando-Sanford which is to the northeast of Orlando. For us that is not very convenient because if we do go to Orlando its for the parks which are on the west side and also the gulf beaches. Much prefer Jetblue!

we're going to try Allegiant

After all the fees (carry on fee, Seat reservation fee) they are still significantly cheaper than taking a stop through Dulles or Newark with a major airline and who wants a stop? The rental car via a well known rental brand was much cheaper through Allegiant than Orbitz. So we'll see how it goes.

We flew Allegiant without any major issues. They were late by about 30 minutes-1 hour each way. On the way from Sanford back to BTV they must have picked up some speed because it only took 2.5 hoursin the 1989 MD 80. The plane going down to FL was a newer (i think 2000) reconditioned Airbus A320. Both had fixed seats. We paid a few bucks extra for the right to pick our seats and got 2nd row both flights. We boarded last and they even saved overhead space for us.

Kid seats were gate checked for free.

Sanford is a nice quiet airport and the rental cars were a walk away which is nice.
