Where do all of the seasonal Killington resort employees live in the winter/summer? I am looking to work at Killington next winter and I am not sure about housing. I read somewhere that there are something like 1200 seasonal positions to be filled each year. Are there any decent rentals right near the mountain? What is the average cost per month? I saw Loon in NH has employee housing in the winter for $110 per person per week for a shared dorm room. I would do something like that if it was clean, safe, and convenient.

Thank you!

Killington staffs much of the resort with seasonal temporary visa people and houses them down the hill in Mendon and Rutland. A lot of the staff housing for those temporary visa employees is in failed motels. Transportation is "The Bus"/Marble Valley Regional Transit. Call them at 800-300-9095 or email jobs@killington.com. I'm sure they have a canned information packet they can mail or email to you. It's minimum wage work. You'll work every weekend and holiday. You'll be sent home early any time there is a slow day. It's likely you'll be laid off by April 1. Most of the rental housing stock at Killington is taken by weekend-only share house people with 6-month seasonal rentals. They typically don't want full timers because of what it does to the utility bills. You might be able to find something but it's slim pickings if you don't know people. The local free weekly paper has online classifieds and there are usually house shares in the fall. Classifieds | The Mountain Times
