Question Life in Troy

Hello,
I was wondering could anyone share some information about what living in Troy is like? We are planning to move there and just wanted to know what some of the residents think of the town. The official town of troy website did not have much information on it. Any leads to some info would be very much appreciated.

It is a teeny tiny town on the Canadian border. Newport will be your town you go for your basic shopping needs. Jay Peak Ski Resort is nearby as well.

Troy and North Troy are very small. I have been up that way either getting onto the Long Trail or getting off. Lot's of open fields and mostly older homes was my impression. I don't think there is much north of the border there and as already mentioned Newport is the closest ocale for general commerce.

Troy is just under an hour from Magog, a sweet town in Quebec. I think Magog has just about whatever one might need.

As was already said, Troy is a very small town. No spot lights and just one "main" street/road. That is Route 100 which goes the whole length of the state. Newport (as was said) is your closest "city". The area is know for great hunting and fishing (my favorite).
Great town to live in if you want rural Vermont at its best.
