Does anybody know where I can find the tax revenue data for Springfield (Vermont, of course), 1970-1985? It would help if you're as specific as possible. "Check Census data" wouldn't be helpful.

Please be more specific as to the type of tax. Thanks!

Property tax revenues along with all others, such as utilities, license fees, grants would be contained in the town's annual reports for the corresponding years. I wouldn't expect to find this data online. A trip to the town clerk's office would seem to be in order.

OhBeeHave, the taxes received by the town would be in these categories: real estate, inventory and machinery & equipment. The town clerk said they don't have anything older than ten years, and the town reports before 1982 just lumped them all together. Thanks for the tip, square peg

While digging around I came upon something you might have already hit upon, so forgive me if this is redundant. What I did notice is that while a town clerk might accept and record these tax transactions (along with property transfer taxes) they are sent on to Montpelier, which would explain why the clerk only holds X number of years worth of records.

There might be an issue with privacy if the records in question are for privately held real estate or property. While my business is not based in VT, I can tell you that in NY that tax paid on inventory, machines, and equipment is paid to NYS and not locally.

OhBeeHave, all I need is the aggregate data, so privacy wouldn't be an issue. I'm checking with the archives in Barre.

OK. Sorry for my confusion. A member on another page was looking for individual property info. I got my wires crossed. Good luck in your search!
