Default Kudos to Vermont

Not only did you fall on the side of the most enlightened by not being suckered into voting for Bush in '04, you went to Obama this time around. I salute you and thank you. Send some of that intelligence this way. CA needs it.

I second that! And 2 of your cities/counties have it right when it comes to Bush as well!

I love it when outsiders give us praise. I don't know whether to or or perhaps .

I love living here and I feel good when the state's political leanings tend to reflect my own, though I realize that is a lucky privilege and not a sign of anything really significant. Still, when I lived in Florida (I am a Miami Beach native, as are my parents), I was pretty much perpetually embarrassed by the politics there. So I do enjoy calling a place home that seems to be more like me.

It's so very amusing to me that liberals accuse the South of being such a monolithic vote and yet they go out in Vermont and vote the same exact way. Everyone knows that Vermont is home to out of touch liberals, and they went out and did exactly what everyone knew they would do.

I'd hardly call that "intellegent".

I'm thrilled, but not surprised, that Vermont went for Obama in a big way. I have to say, though, that I was never more proud of my roots than when, in the last presidential primary, Howard Dean took Vermont--two weeks after he dropped out.

Quite frankly, I prefer the smell of cow manure.

What makes you feel that people aren't being suckered into voting for Obama? What has he really said and not spun? I'm not looking to bicker, I merely wish to understand what people are seeing in the man and what they are hearing in his words.

PS: Not a McCain fan here, just curious about this frenzied build up around Obama is all about. It's bordering on religious zealousness and I have yet to hear anything truly substantial.

Have to agree, at least it's the real deal, not the stench that exudes out of Montpeculiar
