Does anyone live in Thetford? Can you give me an idea of what the town is like? We are considering a move from PA to VT (I'm originally from VT but have never been to Thetford). How are the schools? We have a son going into third grade in the fall, my husband and I both would be working from home. Is there much of a town center? Where do you shop for groceries? Entertainment? Health care? Thank you in advance!

I have been through Thetford many times and I really do not recall there is much there. Been awhile. I think it has the usual. church, post office, I think i used to stop at a general store there. This is a small country town. Everything you do of any importance in terms of shopping, entertainment and health care will probably be done in the Hanover area.

We just moved to thetford in february an love it. Casting a net around Hanover we found it was the closest town in VT that was somewhat affordable with good schools. We loved strafford and looked at vershire but liked that thetford elementary was able to have 2 elementary classes per grade. There are about 30 kids per grade while strafford has about 8 and vershire/West Fairlee 15. Strafford has open school choice for high school and vershire combines into Rivendell but the class only gets up to 40 max. Where as Thetford Academy (a New England private town academy which is contracted to take all kids from thetford) gets up
