Just off hand, I can think of EV charging stations in Park & Ride lots (2 near me), supermarket, King Arthur Flour, and that's just off the top of my head. And I don't have an EV. Pretty sure you can Google a map of charge stations. But you would need one at your house too.

I had to look this word up. So you think mergers are not a good idea?

Since Norwich University is in Northfield, maybe it’s the archaic usage of militate?

I had a college roommate from Northfield. His father was a prof. We exchange emails once in a while. After living “away” his whole life, he’s semi-retired back in Northfield.

No, I think merger is probably the best thing to do in all these situations.

Just FYI:

To militate in favor of something (which he wrote), is the opposite of militate against something (your quoted definitions).

Thanks for the clarity...I didn't understand the usage and the definition, which I got online, didn't show alternate use. I should have figured that out.

For me, personally? With about 2 feet of snow outside and extended covid isolation and boredom, my brain is mush and there is no "should" about "figuring out" ANYTHING.

meh. No big deal. All of us mess up word usage from time to time. I'm much more impressed that you reached for a new fun word than any mangling that might have happened in first use.

- Hey Gemini, 1" of ice on Alabama roads built by engineers that consider ski slopes as flat makes for some isolation as well. The liquor cabinet is getting low and the nearest "charging station" for it is twenty miles away.

Returning to the question regarding town vs village, how is population calculated? For example, city data lists Morrisville as about 2000, and Morristown about 5200. My question is: does the 5200 of Morristown INCLUDE the Morrisville number, or is the true population of the community more like 7200?
