Default Drugs and Crime in Brattleboro

A poster, on another thread, has written about leaving Brattleboro, partially because of the undercurrent of drugs and crime.

I know that there have been issues with robberies of businesses, such as a gas station, and, I think, a store, downtown.

There was a big problem with unsavory people in Harmony Lot, but the town has, I think, successfully addressed it.

I have been warned of 3 "bad" neighborhoods in Bratt: Clark Street, Elliot Street and South Main Street.

Can anyone comment on drugs and crime in Brattleboro?

When moving into a community you have the right to know the number, types, and locations of offenses being dealt with by the police. Ask the police department for that data if crime is a concern or an important criteria in choosing which neighborhood to buy or rent in. If they claim that they don't have that data or can't release statistics, then perhaps the department is sloppy in keeping public records or it might also mean that it would be better to look elsewhere to live.
