Cost of living in Rutland compared to other areas in VT? Not much difference. Mountain View Center on Haywood is right in the city, about 3 minutes from Diamond Run Mall. I lived in Orwell, VT for 6 years and Rutland was the closest city so we'd travel there about twice a month. Personally, I'm not crazy about Rutland, I find it to be a rather ugly city compared to other towns/cities in VT but I heard they've been making alot of improvements since I've been gone. The economy is fairly good there and I'm sure there is a real shortage of nurses in the area.

Smile Moving to Rutland, Maybe??

I may be moving to Rutland VT. I have been there once and it seemed very nice. Its a Very pretty town sitting in the middle of a valley. I live in New York State just south of Albany. I was wondering if anyone had any information about Rutland. The type of people, night life, recreation, cost of living, shopping, cost of houses, townhomes, apartment rents or anything else good or bad about Rutland. Thanks
