I've seen the place next to LL Bean and never went in -- now I have to try it. Can you run in and grab a slice, or do you have to buy a pie?

I don't know if LuiLuis sells by the slice I suspect not. We always sit and eat. FYI it can get really crowded on touristy weekends around lunch time.

Zachery is good pizza, there is one in Burlington and Richmond in my area. I assume they don't sell by the slice cause there isn't much demand for it in Vermont. It doesn't take long for a pizza to go from hot and fresh to not so great if your not selling alot of slices so they probably would end up throwing away alot of cooked pizza.

You might mean Hoagies up on Rte 15 where Rte 128 splits north to Westford. Good pizza without the gourmet advertising and corresponding price. I grew up on neighborhood pizza in NYC and Hoagies comes as close as any other stuff I have had here in Vt.

Are they affiliated? The one in Chester has a website, but it doesn't mention any other locations. The Chester location reminds me of a Pizzeria meets Greek diner. That works out well on the nights where no one agrees on what they want.
I never considered the demand factor in Vermont. Great point.

Hoagies started in Newport and they are in the waterfront plaza next to the cinema. They're also in Lyndonville and, huh - I see they're now in Morrisville too! Good for Greg and Tina - nice couple.

Turns out there is a bunch of them in Vermont and even other states. I don't they think they can have the same name in the same state unless there is some affiliation.

There are quite a few places in the Burlington area where you can get pizza by the slice. Marco's and Mama Mia's comes to mind. $4 at Marco's will get you two slices and a fountain soda.
I like Zachary's too. It used to be a "chain"...Mr. Z's was part of it too. I'm pretty sure Mr. Zachary (the former owner's name) sold them all to different owners.
I'll have to try Hoagie's next time I'm up in St. J/Lyndon. We always end up getting Ramuntos, but will have to branch out and try something different!

Ramuntos is great, as is American Pie in Ludlow. (similar styles)
There is a "Village Pizza" Or "Pizza Chef" in just about every town, almost all are run by greeks and the pizza is pretty good and they all make their own dough fresh (I spent my HS can College years working of the one in Lebanon).
