zachary's pizza vermont - Google Search
I checked the link out and see that there are variations on the name. The Zacharys I use is "Zachary's Pizza House" Next time I am in there I have to ask if they have any connections to any of the other Zachary's.

Coming from downstate NY, Zachary & Pizza were 2 names you never really saw together. It was unusual from my perspective. Usually a traditional sounding Italian name or nickname -- Luigi's, Ray's, Trattoria, Vito's, Mario's -- you see where it's going. Downstate and upstate pizza were two different animals.

The pizza I've had in VT is superior to the pizza I had as a college student during my time at Albany. That was years ago, things probably have since changed -- at least I hope so for the current students!

As for the pizza by the slice in Burlington: I make it to Church St a couple of times per year. I never really sought out pizza, but it's nice to know for future trips that there are good local pizzerias. Are any of the ones mentioned within walking distance of Church?

Thanks!

There are several pizza places in Brattleboro. I tried one and the pizza was much too salty. Yes, I was able to buy a slice.

I've been warned by another ex-New Yorker that I wouldn't be able to find good pizza in Bratt. Nor bagels. But I've gotten used to the local bagels and can live with them. Pizza, well, there are other places to try, but I don't have my hopes up.

BTW: If you want to make bagels, you can get a better taste, I think, by using water that potatoes have been cooked in. The recipe I used said peeled potatoes, but I used unpeeled ones. The bagels were great and this was outside of Philadelphia! Unfortunately, I have lost the recipe.

Went to Lui Lui in W. Lebanon today *thanks to this thread!*
I was quite hesitant because of our bad experience at cough cough a really crappy place in downtown Lebanon on the green (no names).

Lui Lui was great. Very good bread rolls with garlic butter to dip in, nice thin crust pizza, delicious root beer in generous glasses, and the pizza was actually a bit oily (old times...).

So if you are near Hartford, WRJ, or Wilder you should head down there in W. Leb for pizza.

I loved Ramuntos when I lived in Rutland. There was also a really good place nestled within a residential neighborhood off of Cresent St. called Fat Chesters. They made calzones the size of an entire medium pizza.

There are three places in Bellows Falls selling pizza. Someone at work told me that they were all blah, but I tried one of them, Athen's. They say that they use fresh ingredients.
