Exclamation How much would it cost?

How much would it cost to vacation in Vermont for approximately a month, maybe 2-3 weeks. In particular, Burlington and then visit the country area.

I would really like to know as I've been wanting to visit Vermont really bad, I've read all up on it and know so much about it - it really interests me.

Sometimes you can rent places weekly. Many people have second homes or condos they rent out in VT and these vary in price.

Just know that many people come here in winter so finding a place may or may not be easy.

Depends on what your desire is for level of lodging. The cheapest way to do it is to camp, and not in state parks, but park and hike in on for example the Long Trail and set up. Otherwise, room rates here, especially in the Burlington area are extremely expensive. My spouse works in the business and she and I are just amazed on how folks can afford to spend the money they do for just basic rooms. Another thing to keep in mind is that if you do decide to go via commercial lodging you had better make reservations, There are certain weeks where everything is filled up, and if you can can find a vacancy you will pay dearly for the room.

Well I would like to stay in Burlington at least for a week or week and half, then go to the country for a few days. Like how much would that cost? Do you recommend any good hotels, lodges, or places I can rent for 2-3 weeks?

How much do you want to spend? There are a couple "extended stay" type places in the Burlington area where you will have a small kitchen so you can save $$ and cook your own meals. Hawthorne Suites in South Burlington and the Marriott Residence Inn in Williston come to mind. Google the hotels to check rates on their websites. I'm sure there are a few more similar type places in the area (Handy Suites in Essex?).

My boyfriend's mother and her friend recently got a room at the Motel 6 in Colchester for $70/night during peak foliage season and it was a quick hop back over to the hotel. If you look a couple interstate exits away from Burlington, you will probably have more luck with lower cost digs. There are several "bedroom commmunities" around Burlington that will have less expensive hotels, but still be convenient. Just don't do the Fairfield Inn, I hear they were in dire enough straits that they now rent rooms to the state to house juvenile delinquents.

The Marriott as mentioned will cost you from $179 to $250 p/night, unless you have some sort of corporate contract discount, then you might get $139. I know when I moved here I stayed two months right at Williston Rd (US Rte 2) and Dorset St in South Burlington at what was then the University Inn and Suites, now it goes by the flag of Comfort Inn. Had a good efficiency for a pre negotiated rate of $60 p/night, but that was for a real "extended" stay and it was over three years ago. The location was excellent as it was right off the exit to I89, close to town, and had shopping right in the area. My spouse works in the business and the key is not to try and come when bookings are up as the prices go through the roof. Call around and get quotes, if you are good with timing, savy, and get someone decent, you might very well be able to knock the rate down. If the economy continues to tank and your timing is right you should be able to get the price down at some of these places. I know where my spouse is they will forced back to four day work weeks very soon as the advance bookings are poor compared to historical levels. Yes, I do believe we can say we are in a recession.

The Hawthorne Suites is beautiful! But its too far from the heart of Burlington, is there anything right on/really close by the Church Street Marketplace? Like I've never been to Vermont so could tell me more about the location of the Hawthorne Suites?

Hawthorne Suites is about 2-3 miles from downtown Burlington. It's right on the CCTA bus line. The hotel is about 1/2 of a mile from the University Mall.
The only full service hotels in Burlington are the Courtyard by Marriott and the Hilton. There are a couple inns and b&bs (the Inns are the Willard Street Inn and the Lang House).
