Default job fair

There was a story on WCAX the other night about a big job fair in Burlington, 40 companies were looking for employees. They interviewed Husky in Milton, Energizer in St Albans and Green Mountain Coffee Roasters in Waterbury.

The guy from Energizer said they produce the AA and AAA batteries in St Albans(didn't know that) and with all the new electronic devices using these batteries they are busier than ever and need more employees.

I remember reading recently that Chittenden County produces 75% of the state's GDP. They did interview a state official who was at the job fair and he advised that companies look at other parts of Vermont but feel there are not enough qualified people so that's why most of them end up coming into the Burlington area although Green Mountain Coffee Roasters is an exception being in Waterbury.

Wish they could spread the wealth around the state better but I guess when you put yourself in their shoes it's understandable.

Green Mountain Coffee Roasters actually has a big plant in Essex. The K-Cups are manufactured there. I have a friend who worked at Energizer and he enjoyed his time there.
