Evidently it's still available at select outlets, like the VT Country Store.
Somewhere out in my barn there is an old cardboard box with Markie's image on it.

Does anyone remember the old TV commercials that featured baseball stars of the day? Mickey Mantle comes to mind, but I believe Willie Mays, Tom Seaver and possibly others were included also. They would almost literally cry out "I WANT MY MAYPO"......Classic!!

What's so great about Vermont?
Foliage in the fall (duh)
Waves from neighbors when driving down the dirt roads
Privately owned swimming holes that are enjoyed and respected by all (and skinny dipping!)
Long Trail Beer, Putney Winery, McNeill's Brewery
Brattleboro Co-Op
CURTIS BBQ
The perfect, lush, green, fleeting summer
The sense of community and shared hardship during/after a blizzard
Syrup, cheese and maple candy
Picking your own berries
Hikes and bike rides down the logging roads
and a whole lot more....

The anonymous person who plowed out a 95 year old lady's driveway/walkway during the Valentine's Day storm and went on his merry way (there was a public thank you in today's paper).
Spring skiing!
Mud season! Well, not really
Higher Ground Music Hall
Dog Mountain
Burke Mountain
Cabot Creamery
Bobcat Cafe
The App. Gap
As Brattpowered said ..."and a whole lot more".

Mud season = Spring Skiing season, when you have to wear sunscreen. And a ballcap to keep the sunburn away, rather than a wool hat to keep the ears warm!
Lucky people live where there are 4 seasons. Extra lucky people live where there are more. You'll hear people talk about Mud Season in the Spring, when you'll want to avoid dirt roads if possible - and there aren't many left you''l encounter in Chittenden County. And you'll hear people talk about Stick Season: after the leaves are off the trees and before the first snowfall of any consequence.
So here's the old yankee joke for starters - in two variations:
1) We have the usual 4 seasons here (this could be many places in New England) Autumn, Winter, Spring ...and The 4th of July.
2) We have the usual 4 seasons here - Autumn, Winter, Spring and poor sledding.
Now, having delivered the jokes about short Summers, I'll tell you that in The Greater Burlington area, we're in The Banana Belt of VT: our weather is greatly moderated by the Lake Effect. Lake Champlain literally produces a moderating effect and keeps it warmer here than it is out in the country.
People who haven't been to VT picture a place like The North Pole with people snowed in and buried, dealing with snow all the time. But that's just not the case, and particularly not the case here in The Greater Burlington Area. The climate here is, well, temperate. Seems like we had essentially 3 snowstorms in Burlington this Winter. One of them was a 2 footer, but still - you're just not dealing with snow here on a regular basis.
Or mud, for that matter, unless you travel regularly on dirt roads...
