I would suggest that your wife call Lamoille County Mental Health Services at 802-888-4914. My neighbor worked for them for a while before starting a solo practice. They don't pay very well but it would be a good way to get your foot in the door and they always seem to be advertising for mental health workers.
You can also call the Lamoille North and Lamoille South Supervisory Unions at 802-888-3142/4541 to see if there are any school-based positions open in the county.
I'll let my neighbor know about your post so he can weigh in if he has a chance to visit the board.

organick...have you considered buying land and building a house? Might be something to look into.
Good lead for some work in Lamoille County....Lamoille County is nice. Not a huge population center though, but if you can secure work that will work for your family then it would be a nice option.

vter....... yeah def. gonna check out that county.... I have thought about buying land and building, the issue with that is still paying rent while paying on the land until a house is built. Are there good land prices there? There ideas or suggestions for this issue? Thanks again, you are all very helpful.

Again, I'd check out realtor.com for land price ideas. In my area there are some five acre lots going for around 85K. The closer to Burlington, the more $$$. I bet you could find some reasonable land prices in Lamoille County (excluding Stowe). Plug in Morrisville as a town for ideas.

You need to be well versed in VT permitting process before buying land. Along with prices check for permits.

No town, city, or culture (Ashville, or any town in Vermont) ever THINKS its going to "blow up." I moved to VT 9 yrs ago from Charlotte NC, and I have seen a marked difference in traffic, infrastructure meltdown, and a liberal dose of increased costs right here in Chittenden County.
Everyone is tolerant of like minded individuals ... pick your location wisely. Vermont's no different ... just a microcosm of a country split down the middle and tossed in amongst each other. Some keep to themselves and others work the system to suit them.
Think about working for the State or the school system. The "liberals" and "Flat Landers" will continue to increase taxes in order to provide counseling for the rest of us with no income left over after paying basic survival costs.
I'm out of here. But where is there left to go????
