Can anyone tell me about the wages at Jay Peak? I worked there years ago and started at minimum wage and slowly moved my way up. I'm happy for the area that it is getting so much growth but if a 2income family of 4 is living on minimum wage not sure how anyone can make it? Also aren't the majority of jobs seasonal?

Min wage in Vermont is around 8.60/hr. Course, it depends on the job but at the Bush if ya had a good work record you start at lower positions 9/10/hr. One of the major reasons for all the development at Jay, new hotel, water park, Ice Haus etc is to make it more of a yearround resort but some jobs are seasonal.

Did you try looking at the jobs availible on their website? Might answer some of your questions. A friend started as a liftie a couple of years ago at Jay, he started at around 10/hr. Not exactly livable wages unless your prepared to live the frugal life, at least at first.
