Saw some pics of this - in really low temps, bubbles actually freeze before hitting the ground and crashing. Could be fun to try and photograph during the cold weather you are about to get.

Another experiment is to take a pan of boiling water and fling it off a second story deck. Supposedly it will all vaporize and none will hit the ground.

Non-Toxic Bubble Mix Recipe

Makes one gallon (16 cups) of mix.

11 cups water (distilled or purified is best)
4 cups Joy or Dawn dishwashing liquid.
1 cup Corn Syrup
Mix in one-gallon container. Store at room temperature.

Bubbling Tips
1. Avoid a foamy mix by being careful not to stir it. If foam appears, skim it off with a stiff card.
2. The best bubbles are made on humid days or in the morning or evening.
3. For dry areas, use 1 1/2 cups of corn syrup.

"Cool" Bubbles! Winter FUN!
When the temperature drops below freezing, you can create bubbles that crystallize in the air! So whether you're on a ski vacation or just playing in the backyard, make a little bubble magic this winter! (Please note: bubble mix should remain at room temperature)

Thanks for this thread MRVphotog. DH and I will be taking DS back to his VT college this weekend. We'll be glad to have a chance to check on our condo in Stowe while we're there; make sure all of those cabinet doors are open, etc. Those extreme temps make snowshoeing a bit challenging but makes that fire in the fireplace that much more enjoyable. It will still be nice to spend some time in beautiful (no matter which season) Vermont.

Love the poem, Sherylcatmom!
