Green Mnts is on a distinguished road
Default Londonderry

After reading these message boards for quite a few months I'm writing my first post. I have learned a lot of info and want to thank everyone for that. In the time that I've been reading these posts it seems a lot of the talk has been centered around the more populated areas in the state. I've been looking at houses in the outlaying areas mostly in Windham and southern Windsor county. I've learned that taxes are quite high across the state, but does anyone know what the taxes are like in Londonderry? If anyone can provide any information about Londonderry I'd greatly appreciate it.

I can't speak of the taxes in Londonderry, but I know that there was a proposal to put 17 or 19 262' tall wind turbines on top of Magic Mountain -- depending upon where you buy, you might end up with a unique scenic view. I am not sure if this proposal is still being discussed or whether it has been sunk.

You can call the town for the tax rate or go onto to the Vt gov website, I think all the town tax rates are listed.

The wind project called the Glebe Mountain Project, the ski resort is Magic Mountain, was opposed by Gov Douglas as too big so it died a couple of years ago.

I lived in Putney for 5 years in the late 60's/early 70's, Windsor County has some nice towns and Londonderry is one of them. Saxons River is another.
