Glen Beck along with O'Reilly called for Vermont to be 'kicked out of the Union'. There can be no defending this kind of ridiculousness.

LMAO Um no pun intended. But you are upset about them saying kick VT out of the union. When in fact your own Location is Republik of Vermont. LOL sorry that is just ironic.

Leahy and Sanders efforts in trying to keep a few of the
items metioned in the Constitution and Bill of Rights from

getting a beating from the 'O Reilly's, Hannity's, Becks and

When it comes to the Liberal nuts of Vermont it is the usual case of the pot calling the kettle black.

Yes Sonrise, Vermont does care about its children. We have a program called Dr. Dynasaur that offers health care insurance for children, teenagers up to 18, and pregnant women, at a very low cost or free. How many children go uninsured in your state?

Vermont also has one of the best education systems in the country and is consistently ranked as one of the smartest states in the US. Based on your post, Sonrise, I can tell that whatever state you are from does not "truely" value education.

Dr. Dynasaur is a program that helps to increase taxes in Vermont, that further contributes to the socialist agenda. And I have taught in Vermont and other states. This is not the best education in the US...not by a long shot. If we really cared about our children Jessica's Law would be passed and we would be able to know who the sexual predators are so that we could protect our children.

What does your State Legislator say when you ask her to sponsor the legislation, pucabear?

I have in fact contacted them, and the only "frustrating" responses that I have been given are very politically correct. Of course when you try so hard to be "PC", you don't really get an answer. That was what I got from one, no response from the other....

If my recollection is correct, Bill O'Reilly initially went to town over the Judge Cashman decision....his crew was here and trailing Cashman everywhere, including his home. Was the initial Cashman ruling the best one in this case, nope...the crime was awful! However, what did not come out immediately when the press ran with this story was why Cashman made the decision he did. I am not, and clearly want to emphasize not, defending any rapist, child or adult; it is an egregious and reprehensible act. What was a strong factor in Cashman's decision was that DOC did not believe that the offender was a 'high-risk' offender and therefore the offender was not eligible for the sex offender program. I believe enormous pressure and accountability should have been placed on DOC and, ultimately it was. Once DOC said okay, okay, he will be placed in the offender program ....the sentencing was changed and the offender went to prison as should have been the case. I am not defending Cashman in toto, but rather have a sort of understanding as to why that decision was made.....and, in my opinion, I think a bit of accountability should be placed on the press/reporters who were in the courtroom and wrote the story because I believe, to the best of my recollection, they knew some of those additional points and they did not get fully included in the initial story.

A piece of legislation placed in VT recently called the Mechanisms of Accountability Bill. In essence, it is a bill which called for a committee to be created to look at, examine and come back with a plan to hold agencies/courts, etc. accountable to victims when it comes to certain rights they have and those rights are not always honored or respected. It is a good thing and I believe changes will be made as a result. I think Vermont is very concerned about protection for victim/survivors of crime as well as, and I am sure it is difficult everywhere too, to abide by the rights of the offender.

And, I don't think people will or should stop coming to VT and there will always be maple syrup!
Thanks for letting me comment.
