Psychologists in Bratt/Keene areas?
Can anyone comment on the need for clinical psychologists (Phd.), specifically child and family focused, in the areas from brattleboro to keene?

VT lost 10,900 private sector jobs in 2008, Montpelier is way over their heads, and VT has no economic engine to speak of. Plus VT is one of the oldest states in the Nation, not a lot of kids. Perhaps you could find a state job, I don't see much demand for private kids counseling in VT, I'd guess no one would go unless ordered by court.

I used to be more hooked into this community than I am now. You could try contacting this organization based in Keene:
Monadnock Family Services - Mental Health, Community, Children, Youth, Family, Substance Abuse
I also have a good friend who is a psychologist working for another SW NH agency. I'll send your question above to her and let her know I'll be posting her reply.

True, regular jobs are being shed weekly, but as our recent Town Meeting day proved growing school budgets continue to thrive in the face of the economic downturn and continued shrinking of students. I would venture to say that when it comes to schools the sky is the limit and an interesting piece out of Bennington, Bratts cross mountain neighbor to the west, shows that experience has it's place. They just voted in a member to the school board who was a former school superintendent, former, because he served prison time for embezzlement and perjury involving stealing and lying about the theft of school funds. Like the old Vermont tourism caption from some years ago, "Vermont, A Special Place" says it all.

Yup. Getting a job in a public school is most likely the only option.

Uncreative and possibly untrue. But it is one option.

Sherylcatmom, thanks so much for your help. I really appreciate it. The good thing is that mental health has many funding options in many sectors and is not as affected as the rest of the economy. Also many people attend therapy who arent court ordered(mustmove). Publics schools can be a good options sometimes. I look forward to more thanks again.

You haven't offended me. I simply suspect you'll love VT. Enjoy it.
