Hello Everyone,

I'm currently a student at the University of South Florida but I grew up in Vermont. (Jericho) I'm in the process of completing a paper on virtual communities and I choose this site as my focus point. I do need volunteer to answer some quick, basic questions about belonging to this forum. No names will be used, no bad language or rude questions and they will all be kept informal. If anyone has a few minutes to help I would greatly appreciate it. You can leave you answers on the thread or PM me whichever is easiest for you. Thank you again for your time!

"In Vermont authenticity is all, they do not try to keep it real, they are real."

Questions:

1. What promted you to join this site and participate in this forum? How did you find it?
2. What are your biggest frustrations with this forum?
3. Do you partipate in any other state?

Short and quick answers will suffice. Thank you all in advance for helping! Have a great day!

Sincerely,
Nicole

1. I was prompted to join and participate because I am researching Brattleboro, VT as a place to move to. I think I stumbled on it through a search engine, or through links I found on a site linked to a search engine.

2. A few posts are very negative, even bitter, but I guess that's ok because the negatives are important to know if you are considering a move. Other frustrations include rude, abusive posts. I don't see them as much on the Vermont forum as I do on the NYC forum. Also, some moderators have written things that I have found abrasive.

3. I participate in the NYC forum. I do it to give back. People on the Vermont forum help me, and, in turn, I help people on the NYC forum who ask questions that I can answer. Occasionally I post on the Rhode Island forum, because I used to live there, and I have posted on the New Hampshire and Massachusetts forums, for information about areas near Brattleboro. I once posted on the California forum, to ask about stories from the Crescent City tsunami, but last time I looked, no one had answered, .

Hope this helps you.

Default response

1. I wanted to see if people agreed about what I thought about Seattle. I found it by searching for city information on wanting to move.

2. It's very informative and I think the censorship is a bit of a frustration.

3. I put a posting in Seattle, WA
