Arel, bet you'd never thought you'd be thought of as a 'southerner!'

Arrived in VT on Thursday night, departed (VERY reluctantly) on Tuesday. There was so much going on, we had to pick and choose. I wish I could have done everything. What I did do:

Friday: Manchester -- Orvis tent sale (couldn't find anymore discounted wicker.) Went home, walked the pups and then headed to Dairy Joy for ice cream, the Bellows Falls Farmers Market, Fat Franks for dinner, movies at the Bellows Falls Opera House. Before I forget -- Delicious Deliveries at the BF farmers market had the most incredible Berry Extreme pie. I highly recommend it!

Saturday: YARD SALES!!!! West River Farmers Market, visited the old mill in Weston Farrar-Mansur House and Old Mill Museums, Weston . (The mill was great -- we had it to ourselves and the docent fired up the mill and ground corn for us!) We visited open studios and stopped at our favorite local artist's studio. He gave us a lovely gift -- what a pleasant surprise! We headed to Singletons for our bacon fix, then stopped at the Fletcher Farms Arts and Crafts school to view their artisians and learn about summer programs. We wound our way home and collapsed -- exhausted, but happy. We had a 'farmers market dinner' feasting on all the fresh, local foods and veggies we had purchased.

Sunday: prepped the outside for summer and loafed. Sheesh! Friday and Saturday were action packed! LOL

Monday: visited the local nursery, planted flowers in the garden beds, repaired and planted in the window boxes, weeded, tidied up the place. Oh -- I fed the local noseeums, too. *itchy-itchy*

Tuesday: I was dragged kicking and screaming from my happy place back to LI reality.

Roots on the River/FredX festival is in a few weeks. You'll know where to find me.
