The Sopranos in VT
Anyone see The Sopranos on HBO last night? They were talking about going up (from jersey) to a cabin on a lake. They also mentioned going up to Montreal, the area looked very Vermont-esque.

According to HBO, they were in the Adirondacks, which would be upstate New York, not Vermont. Carmella mentioned "Glens Falls," which is upstate NY. However, I have no idea where the scenes were actually filmed. Wherever it was filmed, it sure was pretty.

Hi, I did see the show too...yes they talked about the Adirondecks however, I thought the lake could have been one or two specifically in VT because the layout was so similiar. Do you all remember the movie Funny Farm with Chevy Chase? The movie 'illustrated' upstate New York, however it was in fact filmed in Vermont in two towns. One town, where my office is located (and that bridge, about 800 yards from my office) and the other town, Windsor, is next to my office-town. Funny movie actually.

I read from another source that the episode was filmed at Greenwood Lake on the NY/NJ border. The Appalachian Trail passes by the lake on the ridge which I hiked many years ago.

Greenwood Lake is in my town. The house scenes were filmed in Putnam county, NY. The only scene filmed in Greenwood Lake was the water skiing scene. That was not, however, the only scene they shot. Bobby and Janice's house may be an important place in later episodes.
The true irony is that Greenwood Lake does have a mob reputation and there were a few cement boot events on the lake dating back to Prohibition.

Upstate New York and the great state of Vermont......
Can anyone name any other place(s) which is (are) better?
PS to my firends here on this thread (and NB to any mouth-breathers)--My question was rhetorical. But my offer to any one who can challenge my premise still stands!

Funny Farm Question
Hi! I have been researching Funny Farm as I love the movie and will be visiting VT next week. Do you know the Bridge? Is it the Scott Bridge or the Downers Bridge? Do you know the pond they filmed at? I would love to stop by them when I am up there for maple sugaring... Thanks K

Hi, the covered bridge is the one just a little way past Downer's Four Corners (intersection of 131/106) in Weathersfield (you would be going 131W) if coming from Downers..
The pond is in Windsor...you could check the Vermont website re: movies..can't specifically remember the exact name of the link but there is a site that tells you about movies, where in VT they were filmed, etc.
Hope this information is helpful and have fun!
