Default Burlington vs. Montpelier

Just wondering how the two cities compare and pros and cons of each.

I love both towns. Both have yummy restaurants and cultural opportunities.

I prefer a smaller town where I can walk to nearly everything I do so Montpelier would be my pick. Those wanting more night life, shopping, and city amenities seem to prefer Burlington.

Thanks for comparing for me.

It sounds like I would probably like Montpelier, too.

Are the elementary schools comparable?

If I had to do it over again. I would have moved to Montpelier instead of Burlington. It just seems like a more pleasant place to live. Kind of busy during the week, but the weekends are so nice! Plus housing is cheaper! I have always been very impressed whenever we have gone over there for the weekend. The drive to Burlington isn't that long anyway, so you can also visit for the Burlington amenities.

Jillaceae, thanks, that's really good to know.

I've been leaning towards Montpelier to begin with, but just wanted to make sure.

Montpelier is beautiful and smaller. It's a lot more like the rest of the state than Burlington is.
