I agree with Quickdraw on the North End. The area is not that dangerous and you don't take your life in your own hands when you step out the door, but why live in an area that is run down or with small lots when you could live in a nice neighborhood ten minutes from Burlington and pay less taxes and get a home for the same price or cheaper.

If the argument is that Colchester is better than Peru St. I agree completely. If the argument is that North St. and West Baltimore are one in the same, thats insanity.

My point is Burlington is an expensive place to live compared to the surrounding towns and without question you get more for your dollar. Live 5-10 minutes outside of Burlington and get all of it's benefits without having to pay through your nose in housing prices and property taxes.

Wouldn't know about property taxes, but yeah, the rest is true. The only reason to rent downtown is being close to things (i.e. UVM).
